Desktop Investigator - Remote

 

CoventBridge is seeking a Desktop Investigator to join our Desktop Investigation Unit team.   The Desktop Investigator position involves conducting investigative assignments through desktop and telephonic means.   These investigations include, but are not limited to, background related searches and telephonic medical canvassing.  This is a position of trust, as it is a role that requires integrity, confidentiality, intensity and commitment.  Desktop Investigators must demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills and be self-motivated and highly independent.   

This is a full-time hourly position based from a remote home office.  

Responsibilities/ Requirements

Responsibilities:

 

Duties and responsibilities include essential functions of positions assigned to this classification. Depending on assignment, the employee may perform a combination of some or all the following duties:

 

  • Reviews and analyzes case notes, client handling instructions, prior investigative reports and other pertinent data to perform independent reviews of facts in preparation and follow-through of investigative assignments
  • Conducts research through private and public databases and the internet to compile information pertinent to each investigation
  • Prepares timely, detailed, unbiased written reports and summaries in compliance with corporate standard operating procedures and client SLA’s. Reports must be accurate and detailed, including all relevant facts
  • Communicate with medical facilities and other third parties via phone to gather information relevant to investigations
  • Places up to an average of 75 outbound calls per day as needed
  • Updates corporate case management system with investigative notes, reports and summaries
  • Offers support to our field network via incoming phone calls and email requests throughout the day.
  • Other investigative duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid private investigator's license
  • Communicate with staff and clients in a professional manner
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to effectively interact with all internal and external business partners/co-workers and third parties
  • Must be able to effectively communicate via both incoming and outgoing forms of communication.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and ability to work independently
  • Persistence and adaptability while speaking on the phone
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise judgment and make sound business decisions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks
  • Must be trustworthy in a role requiring the handling of private/sensitive information
  • Strong ability to write investigative reports in a clear and concise manner utilizing proper grammar and spelling

 

Educational/Experience Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or higher preferred
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology helpful
  • Experience in a fast paced, high volume work environment preferred

The hourly rate for this role is $18 per hour. This is the highest rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.  An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
