Investigations Manager – Claims

 

CoventBridge is seeking an experienced Investigations Manager – Claims.  The Investigations  Manager is part of the Operations Team and provides supervision and direction of investigative field staff to ensure a highly motivated, quality-focused investigative team to complete investigations of insurance claims filed for a variety of coverage to include worker’s compensation, general liability, property and casualty, disability, life and health care.  This position will report directly to the AVP of Operations.

  

Responsibilities/ Requirements

Responsibilities:

 

Duties and responsibilities include essential functions of positions assigned to this classification. Depending on assignment, the employee may perform a combination of some or all the following duties:

  • Review all new assignments to include pre-investigative work, client supplied documents and SLAs to ensure all necessary information is present. Contact the client for any clarification and relay expectations to field investigators
  • Review and process daily updates to clients
  • Conduct quality control reviews of investigative work in assigned area of operation by ensuring client special handling instructions are followed, and case objectives and due dates are met
  • Ensure effective production and performance management within team by monitoring workloads
  • Communicate effectively with investigative field staff and client regarding progress of assigned cases, and recommendations for further initiatives
  • Monitor the progress and quality of the investigation from beginning to end to ensure the service level requirements are met, quality achieved and investigative planning is followed
  • Manage challenging caseload with high degree of customer focus
  • Approve payroll, expenses and time off for direct reports
  • Review and process investigator submitted work product.  Focus on quality and compliance with customer expectations
  • Evaluate staff performance and work closely with Human Resources to ensure proper handling of employee topics
  • Review, act on, and respond to SARs (Service Action Requests) in a timely manner
  • Conduct regularly scheduled calls with your staff

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Property & Casualty lines of business
  • Ability to cultivable and build relationships
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, & multi task
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be analytical and methodical in your approach to problem solving
  • Be able to act quickly and decisively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, as well as web-hosted services (i.e. GoToMeeting)

 

Educational/Experience Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field with at least three (3) years of insurance claims investigative experience with at least one (1) year focused on non-surveillance field tasked based investigations
  • Or any combination of education and experience appropriate to demonstrate the competencies necessary to perform the essential job functions

The salary range for this role is $55-$60k annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.  An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
