About the Opportunity:

 

As a key advisor to the C-Suite and senior management of CoventBridge, the Compliance Officer will report directly to the General Counsel and will be responsible for assisting the General Counsel in the development, implementation, and ongoing management of corporate compliance programs, policies, and business practices. This is a unique opportunity for the Compliance Officer to build upon the Company’s foundational compliance practices and develop a formal compliance program with immediate support from CoventBridge leadership. This position ensures operational efficiency and legal compliance across the organization with specific focus on employment-related regulations and issues throughout the U.S. as well as ongoing client contractual obligations.

Responsibilities/ Requirements

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Formalize and manage a Compliance program within the organization by regularly monitoring state and federal laws, statutes, ordinances, and similar that impact the business and/or its employees. Primary focus areas include multistate employment laws, licensing requirements and regulations, and business requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits, and analyze results, of company business practices and policies to ensure regulatory compliance and identify risk areas.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise leadership on changes that impact employee relations, benefits, hiring practices, and workplace safety.
  • Review current and new client contractual obligations and partner with various departments to ensure adherence to obligations.
  • Coach impacted teams (ie, HR, operations, recruiting, licensing) on new policies or practices and changes in existing policies or practices to ensure alignment and understanding at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with General Counsel on complex compliance matters, including regulatory investigations and legal inquiries.

  • Analytical mindset with a methodical approach to identifying and solving problems.
  • Confidence in educating and training managers on compliance best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams; Access).

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of in-house corporate compliance experience required.
  • 3+ years of HR compliance experience required, with strong knowledge of California and New York state employment laws.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or similar credentials are preferred. 

Location Requirement: Remote. Eastern Time Zone candidates only.

The salary range for this role is $85k to $110k annually.  This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.  An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
